On Thursday, February 27, the City of Atlanta hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand re-opening of Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 26 in historic district 8. Significant renovations to this Buckhead station were the first to come since 1954. Renovations included, but were not limited to, a new kitchen, new gear lockers, and new sleeping quarters. The upgrades were brought to AFR 26 by the Renew Atlanta Bond program. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, District 8 Councilman J.P. Matzigkeit, and Atlanta Fire Chief Slaughter shared remarks.
